Ilango Samuel Peter | Production Manager and Translator

Head of Media Division at Gandhigram Institute of Rural Health and Family Welfare Trust, a public health institution in Tamil Nadu, South India.
Ilango Samuel Peter designs and implements specialized training programs on health communication for medical officers, nurses, and government mass media officers. His special interests are empowering health care providers and community resource workers by teaching technological skills for community development. During 2007-2009 he functioned as the Chief Coordinator for the World Bank supported pilot project on reduction of Cardio-Vascular Disease risk factors through life style modification communication campaigns. Later in 2013 he worked as a State Project Coordinator for workplace based non-communicable disease intervention of the Tamil Nadu Health System Project.
Ilango Samuel Peter has produced 25 videos and over 100 printed materials for the health advocacy programs. One of his films on physically challenged people received acclaim at the India National Film Competition in 2005. He has collaborated with Professor Danto on multiple films and educational initiatives, media conferences including collaborating on the development and implementation of the CUNY-India documentary program (2004-2015).

Ilango Samuel Peter holds a Bachelor’s degree from American College, a Master’s degree from Tranquebar Bishop Manickam Lutheran College and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the Centre for Mass Communication Research (CMCR), University of Leicester, England.
