K.R. Prabhakhar | Cinematographer
With over forty years of experience as a Cinematographer, K.R. Prabhakar began his career working for Doordashan Public Television covering news, current affairs, documentary and fiction programs. In 1997, Prabhakar began working on feature films alongside Director of Photography Shri Ashok Kumar, recipient of India’s National Award for Cinematography. Prabhakar is the Director of Photography on notable documentaries largely in Tamil Nadu and the Tamil language: credits include: History of Tamil Literature, Kamba Ramayana, Wood Carvings and the Biography of Pudhumaipithan, a revolutionary figure in Tamil fiction. Annette Danto and K.R. Prabhakar have collaborated on multiple films since 2001 including: Shanti’s Story, A Daughter’s Letter, Listen to A Story, The Never Ending Path and Dindigul Diaries. K.R. Prabhakar is a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu.
