Dr. Vijaya Srinivasan | Advisor

Dr. Vijaya Srinivasan is the former Director of the Gandhigram Institute of Rural Health and Family Welfare Trust.  She has over forty-three years of experience in epidemiology, medical research, community medicine and global health.    She is  the former Vice Principal of MVJ Medical College, Professor of Community Medicine at SRMC, Chennai and VMKV, Salem.  Currently Research Director of Global Hospitals and Health City, Chennai.   Dr. Srinivasan has over fifty publications both national and international.   She has edited five books on clinical medicine and epidemiology.   Consultant for global health organizations:  WHO, UNICEF and UNDP.   Dr. Srinivasan is an active member of the following organizations and associations: Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, Indian Association of Public Health, Indian Association of Biostatisticians, International Epidemiological Association, South East Asia Association of Health Educators.   

 

Dr. Vijaya Srinivasan has been a long term advisor on Annette Danto’s films and educational initiatives.  This has included: USAID, USIEF Conferences,  International Study Abroad Programs, and media projects including:  Shanti’s Story, The Never Ending Path, Listen to a Story, A Daughter’s Letter and Dindigul Diaries.
